Pour It Forward
Good coffee. Good people. Good hearts.
It is our commitment to use the visibility and momentum of The Kentucky Coffee Trail to pour good back into the communities we serve.
Coffee shops are more than businesses.
They are third spaces where people gather, connect, create, and often find support they cannot find anywhere else.
Pour It Forward exists to celebrate that spirit & help it grow statewide.
Why We Started Pour It Forward
At Kangaroo Ridge, our little shop in Vanceburg, we have always tried to blend business with purpose.
Over the past year we have:
Created a Blessing Board so anyone can pre-pay a drink or meal for someone in need.
Partnered with Lion’s Pride Café, a student-run life skills café for Special Education students, through our We Love Teachers A Latte grant.
Funded scholarships for graduating seniors and helped teachers with small classroom projects.
Organized Project Merry Christmas, gathering gifts, warm clothing and food for local families.
Showcased local artists, musicians, and makers whose work brings culture and creativity into our small town.
Led a baby formula drive to help fill a critical gap for families who are struggling to access basic necessities.
These experiences taught us something important:
A coffee shop can be a catalyst for good. And if one shop can do this, imagine what dozens across Kentucky could do together.
What Pour It Forward Will Do
As the Kentucky Coffee Trail becomes profitable, a portion of our net proceeds will go toward micro-grants for Trail cafés.
These micro-grants will help shops launch community or creative programs such as:
Blessing Boards
Student or school projects
Local fundraisers
Artist walls or maker showcases
Community care efforts
Any idea that pours kindness forward in their own unique way
There are no complicated requirement to participate. No long paperwork. No scorecard.
Just an open invitation to be part of a movement that shows what Kentucky coffee culture is really about.

If your shop has a heart for community, creativity, or care, Pour It Forward is here to support you.
I will personally mentor and help any shop that wants to bring more purpose into its space.
